May Race Round-up: Minehead Runners Shine at Home and Away
At the Exeter Marathon on Sunday 3 May, Tanya produced one of the month’s top performances, winning FV35 and finishing third female overall.
The strong results continued at Bideford 10k on Sunday 10 May, where Martin led the Minehead contingent in 39:35, followed closely by Kevin in 40:06. Danny crossed the line in 44:40, with Barry finishing in 45:51.
On Sunday 17 May, members tackled the Badrat Bolt, with Martin taking second MV60 in 40:33 and Kevin placing fourth MV60 in 40:57. Danny finished 18th senior man in 44:16, Barry was eighth MV50 in 46:59, Sue placed fourth FV55 in 54:36. Jackie was also in trail action at the Langport Porthcullis Trail 10k, finishing in 56:50.
There was more age-category success at Wells 10k on Sunday 24 May. Tanya finished second female overall, Kevin won M65, and Martin won M55. Danny finished in 46:06, with Barry close behind in 47:32. Also on 24 May, Richard and Nora ran Bideford 10k, finishing in 54:37 and 1:17:47 respectively.
The month ended on home ground with Minehead Running Club’s own Race the Tide-Chase the Train multi-terrain race on 31 May. Newest member Natalie joined Danny and James on the start line, with James producing a superb run to finish second overall.

MRC on Tour: The Coleridge Way
The club’s Monday evening Adventure Trail Run continues at pace, with 5 of 9 Coleridge Way stages completed so far. The next stage takes place on 8 June, with members and non-members welcome to join the adventure from Wheddon Cross to Horner.
