Club Runners Shine at Babcary, England Honours and More Big Races Build Momentum

It was a standout weekend for the club at the Babcary 7.5-mile road race, with Sue Horne, Martin Shoots, Richard Maw, Danny Doyle and Kevin Shelton-Smith all flying the colours in style.

Sue Horne delivered a fantastic performance of her own, smashing a personal best on the day in a strong field.

England Call-Up for Kevin Shelton-Smith

There was more big news as Kevin Shelton-Smith celebrated an outstanding achievement after being selected for England Masters following his performance at the Farnborough Half Marathon.

Kevin’s busy racing calendar continues into March with the famously tough Devon Grizzly, followed just two weeks later by The Humdinger. Club members will be watching closely as he takes on the challenges ahead.

Entries Surge for Race the Tide

Looking ahead, excitement is building for the club’s unique Race the Tide – Chase the Train event on 31 May, with entries already piling in.

AGM Honour for Jayne Chanter

At the club’s Annual General Meeting, members were delighted to present the Ann Hutchinson Memorial Trophy to Jayne Chanter in recognition of her incredible contribution.

A long-standing and much-loved member, Jayne has organised countless memorable runs, constantly supports and encourages fellow runners, and is well known for her legendary charity hampers, which have raised funds for numerous good causes.

With strong performances, well-earned recognition and big races on the horizon, it’s shaping up to be an exhilarating season for the club.
