The Bear Hunt Relay on 7 February 2026 was anything but a teddy-bear picnic. More than 70 runners from local clubs took on a three-leg course packed with cuddly bears to spot. Mud, hills, brutal climbs and lightning-fast descents kept everyone on their toes as the terrain continuously shifted.
Despite near-biblical conditions, the field stuck it out, hunted down their bears and all made it safely back to a warm, well-earned welcome at The Bear in Wiveliscombe.
Huge thanks to Nige, who once again bearly put a foot wrong, masterminding a route that delivered just the right mix of chaos, challenge and claw-some fun. Absolute legend.
